But let us say a few words about what are angels?

But let us say a few words about what are angels?

The angels
these heavenly spirits, faces, beings,
they are spirits, that is, they have no body.
They are disembodied forces.
Of course, the Holy God is also a spirit!
But God is absolute spirit!
The holy angels are spirits in relation to us,
but they are created beings, that is, God created them, created them, God created the holy angels.
We can imagine this staircase in our minds, brethren.
Above and first of all is God!
Self-existent,
always alone,
from everlasting,
where there is no time and space there is God!
Totally free!
Self-existent, unutterable, beyond our comprehension, incomprehensible,
inaccessible we can't reach him, inexpressible we can't express him!
First is God, he is our creator!
The creator of "the visible and the invisible!".
Visible, human, animal, plant, building,
heavenly things, bodies, materials of the stars.
but also invisible beings, that is, the angels!
God is in the first degree, uncreated!
From there on down all the other us.
We are creations
God is the ultimate spirit!
Then come the angels.
They are spirits, we said, far below God.
since they were created by him.
far superior to man.
since they have no body.
Then comes
man
"brachyti parangels", something less than angels.
Why?
Man has a body.
He is both spirit soul and body.
And because man also dies
this point in the body and in death, he is inferior to the angels.
Then come the animals, they have body but they don't have spirit.
The fish, the plants, the plants, the buildings, all lifeless.
Except for the Godhead all others are creatures.
God is uncreated.
Says St. Gregory Palamas.
A very nice play on words.
And...
If one can remember it, it is good.
"God is incomprehensible
and his incomprehensibility alone is understandable."
God is incomprehensible.
We can't understand him.
He doesn't fit in our minds!
St. John Chrysostom also says of angels
Whatever we say about angels,
we can't get our minds around what they are.
He says that they are heavenly beings.
wise noses, that is, wise minds,
mental beings, mental beings, mental beings!
Lest we miss what St. Gregory Palamas said,
God is incomprehensible!
And in only his comprehensible and only one thing we can understand that we cannot understand him!

Jehovah’s Witnesses

I spent more than 30 years dealing with the Jehovah’s Witnesses because they had converted my beloved mother, and as a monk I couldn’t sleep...
