ego-fulfillment=Believers in reincarnation

Belief in reincarnation provides a beautiful fantasy world in which a person can find the
proper avenue of ego-expression, but at the same time claim to have dissolved his ego. This is
emphasized by the roles people choose for themselves in their past or future lives.
Believers in reincarnation do not always choose an honorable character. If the person is of a
highly respectable and conservative nature, he will often choose a colorful rogue or gangster,
thereby fulfilling his alter-ego. Or, a woman who has much social status may pick a harlot or
famous courtesan for the characterization of herself in a past life.
If people were able to divorce themselves from the stigma attached to personal egofulfillment,
they would not need to play self-deceitful games such as belief in reincarnation as
a means of satisfying their natural need for ego-fulfillment.

SATAN

SATAN has certainly been the best friend the church has ever had, as he has kept it in
business all these years. The false doctrine of Hell and the Devil has allowed the
Protestant and Catholic Churches to flourish far too long. Without a devil to point their
fingers at, religionists of the right hand path would have nothing with which to threaten
their followers. "Satan leads you to temptation"; "Satan is the prince of evil"; "Satan is
vicious, cruel, brutal," they warn. "If you give in to the temptations of the devil, you
will surely suffer eternal damnation and roast in Hell."The Protestant Hell and the Catholic Hell are places of eternal punishment; however, the
Catholics also believe there is a "Purgatory" where all souls go for a time,

YOUR best interests at heart.

If you do not believe in what your religion teaches, why continue to support a belief which is
contradictory with your feelings. You would never vote for a person or issue you did not
believe in, so why cast your ecclesiastical vote for a religion which is not consistent with your
convictions? You have no right to complain about a political situation you have voted for or
supported in any way - which includes sitting back and complacently agreeing with neighbors
who approve the situation, just because you are too lazy or cowardly to speak your mind. So it
is with religious balloting. Even if you cannot be aggressively honest about your opinions
because of unfavorable consequences from employers, community leaders, etc., you can, at
least, be honest with yourself. In the privacy of your own home and with close friends you
must support religion which has your beleives

But also those who died holding grudges, I will hand over to terrible torment. A resentful person remembers the evil done to him and never forgets it. They did not desire My peace was lost, and I lived in anger, bitterness, and wrath. The greedy, the usurers, and the lovers of money—I will destroy and pour out all My wrath upon them, because they placed their hope in gold and ignored Me, as if I did not know how to care for them. And those false Christians who claimed that there is no resurrection of the dead or that there is reincarnation—I will melt them down to Gehenna like wax. Then they will be convinced of the resurrection of the dead. The poisoners, the sorcerers, and all like them will be tortured mercilessly. Woe also to those who get drunk, revel, sing, dance, mock, and imagine evil things. I called them, and they did not listen; they mocked me. Now the worm will gnaw at their heart. I granted mercy and repentance to all, but no one paid attention. I will also cast into darkness those who despised the Holy Scriptures, which My Spirit wrote through the Saints. I will also judge those who deal in superstitions and place their hope in knives, axes, sickles, and similar things. Then they will learn that they should have hoped in God and not in the creations of God. They will be troubled and protest, but they will have no power, for vengeance is Mine; I will repay. I will also punish the kings and rulers who continually grieved Me with their injustices. They judged unjustly and arrogantly, despising people. They accepted bribes, but my authority does not accept bribes. For their injustice, I will destroy them. Then they will understand that I am the One who removes the authority of rulers, that I am more fearsome than all the kings of the earth. Woe to them—what punishment awaits them, because their teeth were set on edge and they shed innocent blood, the blood of their children and daughters. And what wrath shall I bring upon the hirelings who were not true shepherds, who devastated My vineyard and scattered My sheep? They cared for gold and silver, not for souls, and sought the priesthood for profit. How great will be their punishment, how great their lamentation! I will pour out all My anger upon them and crush them. I will punish their lawlessness with a rod and their injustices with scourges. Also, the priests who laugh or quarrel within My holy churches—what shall I do to them? I will condemn them to fire and Tartarus. I came, and I am coming. Whoever has strength, let him confront Me. But woe to him who, being sinful, falls into My hands. For each one will appear before Me naked and exposed. Where will the shamelessness of sinners appear then? How will they face My countenance? Now I will also judge those monks who neglected their duties and betrayed the promises they made before God, angels, and men. They promised one thing and did another. From the height to which they ascended, I will cast them down into the abyss. It was not enough for them to destroy themselves, but they also caused a deadly scandal for others. It would have been better for them not to renounce the world than to renounce it and live burdened with sins. Vengeance is Mine; I will repay those who did not wish to repent. I will judge them as a just judge." These words, which the Lord proclaimed to the Archangel Michael, filled the countless angelic hosts with fear. Then He commanded that the seven ages of the world be brought before Him. Michael carried out the command and went immediately to the house of the Covenant and brought them. Here is the site of Panagia of Zorochoumbi, also called Panagia of Glossa. It is located about 15–20 minutes from the main road. It lies south of the village of Kellaki, about 5 minutes away. The area is called “Listogonos Mountain,” and it received this name because in old times, pirate ships used to stop there after carrying out raids. The robbers would escape to this mountain to hide, since it was difficult to access. In the past, there was a small village here, which was later abandoned. The inhabitants moved further down. Perhaps this happened because of the raids, to stay hidden, or maybe because of the cold—we do not know. Many ruins remained here, which people called “ruined houses.” Gradually, as people began cultivating gardens in the area, they cleared the land. The first church that existed here was a small chapel, serving as a rural chapel of the village. Some historians date it to the 12th century, others to the 15th century—we are not certain. As we said, this was originally a chapel of Zoodochos Pigi (Life-Giving Spring). Later, the residents leveled the area, intending to use it either for storage or construction. However, in 1976, the metropolitan bishop requested the land to establish a monastery. The local community agreed, along with the priest, and gave the land for this purpose. Thus, in 1976, it became a monastery. Four nuns came from Saint George Domanos, and the monastery began as a communal women’s monastery. Later, the large church of the Holy Trinity was built, which is now the main church (katholikon) of the monastery. It is a beautiful Byzantine-style church. The wooden carvings inside are handmade, dating from around the 1800s. They are remarkable works of art, with symbolic representations such as the phoenix, the vine, and the peacock. These carvings are of great value. The Church of the Holy Trinity was built by the priest of Saint Tychon, Father Kyriakos, together with his wife. Later, other chapels were built, including the chapel of All Saints next to the Holy Trinity. Also, on the first floor of the monastery, there are chapels dedicated to Saint Savvas and Saint Ambrose. There are also many accounts of miracles. A couple once brought their six-year-old child, who could not speak. They stayed overnight at the monastery and prayed to the Virgin Mary for their child to speak. The next morning, at dawn, the child woke up and said, “Mom, I want milk,” even though he had never spoken before. This was considered a miracle of Panagia, and many such miracles have occurred. Another man came recently and said that after praying and repeating the prayer three times for his child, the child’s tongue was opened, and he began to speak. We should also mention the holy water (hagiasma) found here at Zoodochos Pigi. It flows from a rock behind the monastery. However, for easier access, it has been brought to a fountain in front because it is difficult to reach the back. In another case, the Virgin Mary appeared in a dream to a woman who was in the final stages of cancer. She told her to come there, describing the route with turns, and said, “There you will find me, Panagia of Glossa, and my daughters (the nuns) who care for me.” When the woman arrived, she recognized the place exactly as shown in the dream, and her cancer was completely healed. Another woman brought her daughter, who was about to undergo surgery for tumors in her neck. A prayer (paraklesis) was performed, asking the Virgin Mary to perform a miracle. The next day, the girl returned running with her arms open, saying, “I have nothing! They took me for surgery, and there was nothing.” The Virgin Mary had performed a miracle. The girl still visits the monastery and celebrates Panagia with great joy. There was also a nine-year-old child from Russia who had never spoken a single word. After a prayer service and anointing with oil, the child began to speak fluently, as if he had always spoken, with no problem at all. The feast of Panagia here is celebrated on the Friday of Bright Week, the week after Easter, known as Renewal Week. That Friday is dedicated to Zoodochos Pigi. Here, she is also known as Panagia of Glossa. There is also a celebration on Thomas's birthday. Many people come bringing offerings, often silver tokens, asking for miracles. After receiving help, many return to offer silver plaques inscribed with the word “thank you,” expressing their deep gratitude to Panagia.

From his early childhood, he had contact with Christianity through his Christian mother. It is one of the great historical mysteries how a relatively small number of Seljuk Turks and Ottomans who arrived in Asia Minor between the 9th and 10th centuries managed, within a few centuries, to change the entire ethnic and religious character of a region inhabited by millions—many say up to 20 million—Greek-speaking Orthodox Christians. There are many explanations. Some say it was forced Islamization through violence, while others say it occurred for practical and economic reasons. However, because this process of religious conversion was often incomplete and superficial, a unique characteristic remained within Turkish Islam—one that some consider a heterodox element. Today, this is being increasingly discussed by Turkish journalists and researchers under the term “the religious problem of modern Turkey.” On November 10, 2002, a Turkish newspaper reported that the feast of Saint Nektarios was celebrated inside a Muslim mosque—formerly a Christian church—in Eastern Thrace. Many Turkish Muslims stayed after their prayers to observe the Christian service with great reverence. Similarly, there are reports of Turkish Muslims attending Christian ceremonies, lighting candles, kissing priests’ hands, and seeking blessings from the Virgin Mary. In some cases, even Muslims from other countries, such as Iran and Iraq, visit Orthodox churches in Istanbul, seeking hope, healing, and help for their personal struggles. Some Turkish women have even been reported diving into the water during the Epiphany ceremony to catch the cross—an act deeply rooted in Orthodox Christian tradition. Other reports mention Muslims visiting churches regularly, praying, lighting candles, and asking for miracles. Turkish newspapers have even described certain churches as “places of hope” for Muslims. In recent years, there has also been an increase in conversions to Christianity in Turkey, often among people who later discover they have Christian ancestry. Investigations revealed that many of these individuals had ancestors who were Islamized, especially after the Asia Minor catastrophe, and later rediscovered their Christian roots. There are also remarkable accounts of healing sites, such as sacred springs associated with early Christianity, where both Turks and foreigners visit for healing. In some places, visitors light candles, burn incense, and perform acts that are officially forbidden in Islam. Despite this, such practices continue and are even broadcast on Turkish television. One striking example is the pilgrimage to Saint George on the island of Büyükada, where tens of thousands of Muslim Turks visit the church, light candles, make vows, and seek blessings. Some even walk barefoot up the hill to the church, tying threads along the path as part of a ritual for their wishes. Priests are seen blessing Muslim visitors, sometimes even making the sign of the cross on their foreheads. Finally, there was a mysterious event reported in 1998 on the island of Antigoni, where a strange, sorrowful sound—like a sigh—was heard every night around a church. Residents were alarmed and unable to explain it. Some interpreted it as a supernatural sign, even suggesting it was a message from the Virgin Mary—a lament for the state of the world and the abandonment of faith. The church, once full of Orthodox believers, now stands nearly empty. A small state will be the cause of the global war. Perhaps that state will be Cyprus. When the flood of Noah occurred, people drowned in water. Now they will drown in blood. In Constantinople, there will be great slaughter, and the sea will turn red from the blood of the slain. A three-year-old calf will float in the blood, as Saint Kosmas said. This signifies the great massacre, bloodshed, and destruction that will occur. The sky will be filled with airplanes dropping fire and bombs on people. Terrified, people will cry out, "My Panagia, my Panagia.” Constantinople will be taken again by the Greeks, but there will be great killing. Before the war begins, a great Cross will appear in the sky. The Turks will attack. They will cross the Evros River and cause destruction. They will reach Hexamilia, and then we will confront them. In this talk, I will speak first about the theological meaning of transformation in the Orthodox Church. -In Orthodoxy, salvation means not simply changing God’s attitude, but changing ourselves and being changed by God. Salvation ultimately means deification; and deification, as we have seen, entails transformation. It is being united with God ever more fully through His Grace, His Uncreated Energy, in which He is fully present. As we participate ever more fully in God’s life through His Grace, we become ever more deified, ever more in the likeness of Christ. Then, at the time of our departure from this life, we can dwell forever with Christ in His Kingdom because we “look like Him” spiritually, because we are shining with the Grace of God.
