Morfou Neofytos-A boy came who had a demon

A few days ago, a guy that has a demon came. He came for confession. He was quiet … He listens to the demon inside him. But, when we read prayers with some Fathers here, it flared up. The guy told me, “He [the demon] got angry because you called him ‘an ant’” “And he told me that he will wait for you at the toll houses” “to show you how much of an ant he is.” I said, “Tell him that I am not afraid of him.” “My mother will come find me at the toll houses,” “my grandmother, Myrofora, will also come,” “so will Saint Evmenios [Saridakis] and Saint Iakovos [Tsalikis].” As soon as he heard the name “Iakovos,” He cries out, “The pickled herring burnt us.” When we have the experience of such holy Fathers and holy Mothers, am I allowed to square the circle [i.e. to make compromises on his faith]? At 60 years old, what am I? A man facing his death.
