✨ “My child, God allows pain for three reasons:
✨ 1) To make what is good become excellent.
When a vine is pruned, it feels pain and ‘weeps’ at the place where it is cut. Water drips from the spot where it was wounded.
✨ Then it grows, grows, becomes a source of pride, and is filled with grapes! The same happens to us. God prunes us. Through pain we cast off bad habits, we are transformed inwardly, we grow spiritually, and we are filled with beautiful fruits.
✨ 2) God also allows pain when He wishes to free a soul from small things and to bring it to completion (to perfect it).
✨ When we confess, our wounds are healed. Yet some small things remain, which we did not consider important. Then a strong pain comes and completes the work…
✨ 3) One pain heals great sins.
Just as rust is born from iron and then rust consumes the iron; just as wood gives birth to the worm and then the worm eats the wood—
✨ so it is with pains… they come from pleasures, and then pains erase the pleasures…
It is enough that there be faith, repentance, and patience…”
